F-105 Thunderchief (multiple)

F-105G Thunderchief (Pima 03-23-17) 9558

I photographed the single-seat F-105 Thunderchief at the Udvar-Hazy facility in Washington DC. During a visit to the Flying Heritage Collection in 2016, I found a two-seat example that they are displaying while it is on loan from the Air Force Museum. It was originally built as a F-105F, but upgraded to a F-105G specs to fly Wild Weasel operations. According to the FHC website, it is believed that this aircraft (below) was the last Wild Weasel to leave North Vietnamese airspace on the final night of bombing.
